OK, all of this I knew except the part about Hitler changing the designation of the Bf 109. I always heard it that Willie added his name in the form of ME just as you say, but that it started (I believe) with the ME163 and from then on all Messerschmitt aircraft carried the ME designation. I know that I've only seen the Bf 108 and Bf 109 series of aircraft listed as the (for example) Bf 109E-3 and I've never seen it as ME109E-3.

In my Humble Opinion, The Swallow is the most beautiful aircraft ever to grace the heavens with it's presence.

And when they asked the allied pilot for his most harrowing experience he said, "One day, all of a sudden, I seen five fockers above me, and three more fockers below me." The reporter asked if this scared him, and he replied, "You're damned right! Them fockers was Messerschmitts!"

I have a few of the 21st planes, but no BBIs, and I've seen them listed and been curious about them. I know they're supposed to be much better models, how do they compare price-wise? Let me know when you get tired of the 262 and we'll cook up a good swap. Of course I'd never be happy until I painted it.

This is the Trumpeter 32nd kit with the Big Ed PE set. Now that's a detailed set. It even has pull rings for the starter motors.

Only thing I think is cheap looking on the whole plane, the rivet or whatever it is that holds the main landing gear wheels on. However since it spends all its time hanging from the ceiling in my hobby room its never seen.
