Gearbox motors

Hey all, I was messing around with my Pz3 build last night trying to figure out why one of the GB's (Asiatam brass 3:1) was so noisey. Took the offending side out, removed the motor and had a look. The gears run beautifully when running free, without the motor. I put the motor back in and let it run for a bit through a 4x AA box. The noise seemed to be coming from the motor pinion and the first gear.

Added a liberal application of moly grease to the motor pinion and first gear, ran it again - lovely and smooth and quiet, hmm. Gave it a run for a few minutes and it gradually got noisier and noisier, kind of proportional to the amount of moly grease still there. Lubed it again - same thing, can't keep greasing it up every few minutes every time i want to run it I was thinking.

Took the motor out again and gave it a little power. Noticed a very slight wobble in the shaft. So thats it then, the motors busted.

The gearbox is one of the little low profile types, I have loads of spare motors kicking around but their all the 4cm long types. Nothing short enough for the low profiles and having some difficulty tracking down a pair of replacements!
