Tracks, drive wheels, idlers and sprockets -->

Unlike the larger tanks the tracks for the wee Pz3 were an absolute joy to instal. The track tensioners pre installed in the hull made sure that it didn't take more than a minute for each track.

Checking in at dead on 3kg so far. Got the Mato upper on order that will probably change that

Did you order the plastic or all metal mato upper? IR or airsoft? I see you put in a TG MFU, gonna keep that, or go hobby grade?

Yeah its the metal upper hull. I just had the spare RX18 Lying around, been using it to run in the gearboxes. Definitely upgrading to a hobby grade, possibly an IBU2, love the crisp control with that board. A Clark would be a better size, but I always get the impression that the Clark board is a compromise, an unfinished product.

Cool. I have the all metal Mato PzIII and it's a pretty good little tank. Got it in the days before they came RTR and had a good time installing all the gear. Mine is on a clark TK22 and the TGY-i6 radio. The PzIII I just picked up is the TG metal lower, just like my Stug, which i think you've seen.

I WILL be getting another metal hull and starting a STUG build soon, I'm pretty impressed with the Taigen metal hulls. I forgot to order a metal rear panel when i was ordering the running gear. I was thinking of using that to secure a late functioning exhaust that i'm working on. Been looking everywhere for one, so decided to go ahead and try to make one, right now its looking like the Pz4 exhaust though, i'll have to adjust the pipes -

The only place i've seen this style of functioning late exhaust is "Tankzone" :(

Just took a look at that radio you mentioned, its prettty much a rebranded FLYSKY FS I6 isnt it, i like the fact that its got pots, i have 2 viper units i cant use with my DX6, I'd like to be able to though. What are your thoughts on the TGY-i6?

Hey Mitchell, that's a very interesting looking exhaust. Have you seen what I did with my Tauchpanzer?

As for the i6, yes, it's rebranded flysky and I really like it. The ONLY bad thing is getting both sticks to self center is a real job. I'm trying to just buy a new gimbal, and i think I have a source. I'll know more later this week. Other than that it's a great TX and only about 50 bucks (USD). I have a real FlySky i10 and I was able to get a self centering gimbal for that and talk about a sweet TX. More than three times the cost of the i6, but just the same, a truly great radio. Much easier to use than the 9XR Pro for a Gomer liker me. And if I can get the telemetry stuff sorted out it will have some great features, like being able to read battery voltage during battles, and I'm working on two pieces of telemetry just for tanks, a temp reading for the control board and a position indicator for the turret. I don't know if those last two will be possible, but it would be very convenient to know turret position when you're driving with FPV goggles and can't see the lower hull. Of course, I really shouldn't say "I'm working on it" because what I'm actually doing is trying to convince guys who are smarter than I am to figure it out and teach me how to do it. :/

Thanks for the info bud, interesting little Tx, I often feel like I would be better off with a radio thats more suited to tanks and ground vehicles, rather than settling for an air radio, for me the ideal radio would be the DX6 with a couple of pots, for vipers. Even more so now that I've put a TPA on the IBU2.

Haven't had a chance to see your Tauchpanzer in action, a different take on a DD tank?

I actually got the FLYSKY FS T6 thinking that because it was the upgraded version of the FS i6 it would be telemetry compatible also, it wasn't! Learned to love it though, initially, very versatile radio. The one pain with that radio, and for me it's got so bad that i don't use it anymore, is the inactivity alarm, you sit the radio down for what seems like seconds, and you have to stop what your doing and go move a stick to stop it beeping at you, shame really. Can't seem to turn it off, and i hate it now, it's in the Torro trunk gathering dust.

I agree battery voltage and temp telemetry would be useful capabilities. I do know that my no1 go to radio, the DX6, is telemetry enabled via additional telemetry receivers and probes, the set up "seems" very straight forward. It's on my list of upgrade jobs !

I meant what I did to the exhaust, but yeah, I guess it's kinda like a DD, in that it's made to drive through water.

Ya know, if all you want are a pair of pots to run a TPA with vipers the Hobby King T6 has two and only costs about $25. I have several of them and they're pretty cool, but I think I'd still rather fork out the 50 for the i6. And the i6 only needs 4 AA batteries, which the cheapskate in me really loves. I use the Duracell copper tops in that and they seems to last forever. If only it was easier to self center. I really need to call about that gimbal tomorrow.
