Flak painting.

Hi everyone. I bought and assambled one flak like this one: (Internet photos)


It comes in sand color.


I want to paint it with a tamiya panzergray spray, but I have a couple of questions. Do you recommend me to prime it first? And can I do some pre shading with black paint and a brush? Does it worth it? Thanks!

Well, finally I painted it just with a brush and three cheap humbrol paints. The first photos have no light glares.

That's the EXACTLY same kit I have! Just have to make time to build it, how was it? I'm going to airbrush mine but wow yours came out really really nice! Job well done!

Building it was quite fast and easy. Tips about the building: Look very carefully the manual and the plastic sprues, because sometimes it is not very clear.

And the most important thing: One of the pieces is not correcty located in the manual. It is, in the folding arms, the transverse piece that keeps the arms unfolded. On the step you have to glue it, it is wrong, and on the nexts steps is right. At least in my manual is wrong.

Keep your eyes on it, because its almost impossible to fix it once glued without destroying too much.

Its a nice kit and comes with a lot of decals.

I will put some more photos as soon as I have time.

Thank you Mr.Rad! I think I may go paint mine now, it'll give something to do since it's snowing and raining outside I'm not taking my tanks out today.

Do you recall the part number or the step number I need to watch out for?

Sure. I took another look to the manual. Step 19, piece K17. Look the next photo and you will see that the location has been reversed. If you glue it and wait for a while you would be really fucked.
