BATUS Challenger 2
Re: BATUS Challenger 2
A friend of mine was commanding it during this exercise & we both agreed it looked really good, sadly a few weeks later he sent me a PIC & it was green & black
Re: BATUS Challenger 2
Ah ok, I stand corrected then.
Would be nice to have it all black too, although for practicality (i.e., to break up the general pattern/silhouette that identifies it as a CR2) a camo pattern would be more useful. Then again, after a day in the field especially a muddy one, all those colours would "disappear" from all the mud.
BTW, thought you guys might find this of interest:

The majority of Challenger 2's are just uniform green these days, those that are green & black are more often hand painted other than sprayed, there's still a few sand/green Challys kicking about but BATUS vehicles (not just Challenger) are uniform sand now, all down to out government cost cutting!!!

Re: BATUS Challenger 2
Not more done, replaced the damaged sprocket, painted the areas on the turret & hull for C/S & zap codes. Done a little bit of detail work on the turret so far but not happy with it yet! Guess when I've painted/touched up & weathered it a bit you won't notice it anyway lolUncarina wrote:Great pictures! Thanks for sharing.

Looks great! FWIW, Carson at DKLM RC is coming out with a metal template for adding the holes to the wheels.

Re: BATUS Challenger 2
Thanks Tom, I may invest in one of those
Re: BATUS Challenger 2
Well I ended up making my own decals, made a stencil originally but that wasn't very successful, sooooooo I reversed the template on the back of an address label, drew round it, cut it out, stuck it on & sealed with matt varnish lol, didn't need to be perfect as BATUS vehicles call signs are as rough as nails
Talk about being a cheapskate!!!!!
