I thought about posting this in tips and tricks, but I think it should be here as I'm not really concerned about the tips or tricks, I'm looking for those interesting stories of how you found a new way to do something, better than before, and made that find totally by accident. This video shows one of mine, and another that I found completely by accident is that when hooking up a TK22 in an Imex Sherman, if you know which wires to cut, you only have to cut two wires and solder them together and swap two pins in a jst plug and you're all done. Airsoft unit installed on a clark board, and I was even able to keep the stock slip ring, but it's something I figured out totally by accident when I turned the tank over and saw that rinky dink LED that's supposed to be a coaxial machine gun.

So check out the video for more explanation, and then I'd like to hear about how you discovered a really cool procedure, totally by accident.
