You ok Pete ? The welds look very good and the texture applied to cast steel is looking good too. The texture you have applied to rolled steel is probably a bit too much. Having said that, a little bit of flattening off should yield great results.
Have you got this site ?

It shows some pretty good close ups.
All the best mate,
Nick.

Hi Nick Thanks for the input been trying for ages to get a rough finish and found it .It may been a little to rough but can always flaten a little the hard thing is getting a rough finish and its very easy again took only 5 mins to do the hull ,this how I did it spray light coat of primer down one side and sprinkle baking powder along it and allow it to slide over the wet paint then blow off excess and give it a light coat of primer its done.
If you need to flaten it gentley rub it with wet&dry paper or give it another coat of primer .

Pete, that baking powder used in the way you suggest sounds like a great idea. I've heard about people using baking powder as a Cyano filler/accelerant, but never as a texture for paint. You really have opened a whole new area with regard to paint textures.
You've done it again mate. You're a bloomin' genius.

Gentlemen it is a good link isn't it. It should keep us Sherman heads interested for ages.
Thanks for the baking powder explanation Pete. It's going to have to be a "must try".

Great work Pete, you'll have to do a full write up in the tips and tricks section.
By the way, the 'primeportal' site has been posted in the reference web sites section since Decemeber.
