Re: The violinist
It is interesting how many of the small children where atracted to the music, not the typical music they hear on the radio!

Re: The violinist
Hi Blitz,
when I was at infant school, we always listened to something classical every day. I remember listening to Peter and the Wolf.....we all used to listen and enjoy. I now go to a lot of classical music concerts and operas and see lots of young people there.
When I have the radio on in the car and listen to popular radio, I hear music that is very agressive, violent and full of foul vicious languade... no wonder the kids of today are vicious and agressive too.
I am glad that I grew up in The Beach boys and Beatle era......I think their music made me think bout life...and want to enjoy life. Todays music is about beating shit out of something or other. Especially the "black American style" of rap......how I miss Otis Reading and his like.
There I go...I had better put my soapbox away quickly.......

Re: The violinist
I have been lucky so far my kids, daughter 13 and son 9 like 70's rock, folk rock, big band, blues, classical and jazz. Daughter plays guitar and son the piano. I grew up listening to Elvis, 50's, and since it was the 70's Bread, Moody Blues, Tom Jones, 3 Dog Night and Gordon Lightfoot. So that I think rubbed off. I listen to Big Band and for you in the States XM Satellite radio ch. 7 70's music. They have shunned the cRAP music as most of their friends have. They all state the older music is cooler and wish they could have lived in the 70's. Makes me feel old. A lot of them including my daughter wear bell bottoms, butterfly floral shirts and Wallabees. I have no problem with it if it keeps them away from most of the modern music. They were talking about a song that blew my mind called I kissed a girl and liked it. The problem, it was a girl who kissed a girl. And this was marketed towards teens. What has the world come to.
Now its my turn to get off the soap box.

You have nothing to fear, but fear its self. Or maybe a KT too!
Re: The violinist
Hi Richard how rite you are. I used to listen to the same music....plus some earlier stuff......I used to sing along with it...now I dont know what they are saying.....how can you understand this stuff.
Mind you, I can remember my parents saying similar things about the music I listened to. I dread to think what my father would say about some of the stuff called music today.
Ok.....who is next for the soap box..............
