Hi Alpha, the fingers are healing and I've psyched myself up to start assembling the spare links. Some of the very early ones I made are proving a little unreliable, mainly because I didn't coat them with acetone. The later ones are much stronger, so I will have to recheck that track and upgrade. Dougal is still lying in wait, he has his eye on the M7 Priest which is bigger and looks more fun so I have to watch him like a hawk!

He looked pretty anxious ...so you better keep a look out LOL

What does coating with acetone do ..never heard of that before...I would think it would melt that plastic :'(

Yes it melts together the track link and the track plate. The individual links are so small that if the two parts are not thoroughly joined then the track link breaks and... This has happened to a few of the early links that the normal styrene glue did not join very well. After painting with acetone I have to redrill the holes in the links and do some cleanup but there is no way you can separate the link components.  Alwyn

Interesting note...does this work with all plastic tracks or just the ones Woz prints

Hi Alpha, I don't know as I don't have other tracks to test on, maybe someone with spare links for other tracks can test and inform us? I suspect that the commercial tracks are made of much stronger stuff so maybe acetone wouldn't work. Alwyn

Having decided to make the Universal Carrier into a Mortar Carrier, then I needed a 1/16 3" mortar, so....
Here's the real deal

And here's the build ready to go on the model

and stripped ready for loading

I did this while the lacquer was drying on the base and undercarraige. As usual I didn't read the label on the bottle and it's 24 hours drying time!!! Dagnabbit!

Hi Painless, I'm not sure about the deuce and a half, although I have got an old Tamiya Boomerang in the cupboard that I'm planning to transform into a 1/10 Morris C8 Quad with limber and gun. I bought it (bare chassis with electronics/rx/tx) about 18 months ago for £15 as a spares/repair, and on testing it all seems to work fine, so I guess that will be the next project. :D :D   Alwyn
