Thank you Squire. The ribs were grafted out of plastic left over from a new draw divider(you put knives & forks in them)SCHWEREPANZER wrote:Your "Octopus" Tiger is very convincing and looks just smashing. Really, very nice job.
A stupid question as the answer looks straight forward enough, but what material did you use to create the ribs on the front mud guards? Also, what paints did you use? The overall affect is quite nice. Great work!
So I cant be certain just what plastic it was, but the scale thickness seemed to work, plus it responded well to shaping.
It was almost happy to retain its curve after being cut with scissors then filed. Whole lot coated in super glue to give texture.
Paints were Tamiya. Without looking back into the build thread, the green was a blend, and the yellow XF-60 Dark Yellow.
Sealed with tamiya matt sealer(only time Ive used it) and dusted with a mix of buff & dark earth.
It should really have had the narrow very late tracks fitted, but by the time I located them it was a bit late, plus the wider ones look better.
