binding a h/l. 2.4 tx to rx..

Post by wadsworthj »

hi
there.

I am having a lot of trouble in trying to rebind my h.l. 2.4 system.
all batteries are new/fully charged and the little push button binding switch is in place,
yet when I proceed ,Nothing happens.
I have even replaced the rx and the tx is an almost new one, and inside is pristine.

no matter what I do I get no result at al.
all the items I wish to use are plugged in, I do not use smoker or b.b.
so they are not.
Anyone come across this problem ?
Comments welcome.
Cheers Wads.

Just wondering Wads....did you turn off the tank after you did the bind?...found it's something you have to do ;)

Hi Alpha.
Yes and disconnected the battery.
But I am getting no sign that it has bound, should not I hear a squeak or something ?
Cheers Wads.

Hello Dave.
Thanks for that, but no dice. it does nothing
I know that power is getting to the receiver , but it leads me to suspect the tranny.
It has been standing for some time, but no sign of corrosion. batteries out of course.
I must have tried to bind the thing over 20 times,
Its got about as much life in it as my mother in law.
Cheers Wads.

Hi.
Thanks for that , it is good to know that I am not going senile, (yet), give me a fortnight.
It sounds that the answer may lie in what you have told me, that a component has just Died,
without drastic testing and the knowledge to sort it it would
seem that the tranny is dustbin bound, or save the case to replace a cracked one etc.
cheers

No...No sound Wads....the format should go along the lines of what Dave layed out...you turn both the TX and Tank on...you press and hold the bind button...then press start on the TX (TX power on)....you then turn off the tank ..no need to remove the battery....then you turn it back on ...let the lights start blinking ...then start the tank ;)

Just a note on this Wads...the only thing that really gets affected by time is the battery....lipos actually die if not stored without some kind of charge in them....Nicds and NiHis generally are ok with time passed....what usually get's affected in how much the battery can store...thing is....over time you should charge it as you would a new battery....so a good initial 6hour charge...should give it enough juice for you to at least start the tank....how much play time you get will give you a rough Idea of how "good" the battery is...I find my junk batteries will last less than 15 mins....but I don't throw them away...I use them for testing new tanks and project tanks

Good Luck Wads

Hi alpha.
After exhaustive testing, I can only conclude that the tranny is the culprit.
I put new batteries in charged up the 2000 main batt, and carried out the procedure out lined by your good self,
lights blinked, but when I pressed the start up button, zilch, no gun nadda.
So I will get another h.l. 2.4 set up and start over. thank for all the help guys.
Cheers Wads.

Sorry to hear the bad news WADs ....hope the new set works...if it does and there is nothing wrong with the previous set...you might try a quick trouble shoot to find where the problem was....from there you might be able to negotiate something with the person who sold you the first rig
