Hi just joined so thought I'd say hello.
I'm retired/returned to work (just couldn't keep away!). Have many hobbies (toys), decided to give RC tanks ago. I had no idea where to go or what to do so just bought a basic Heng Long Tiger to start with. Through well meaning friends clearing their lofts out and charity shops I now seem to have aquired four! So I'm well on the way to building my first Panzer division and first divorce.... (only kidding my love).
I couldn't leave the first tank alone and started to add bits and pieces with no idea where I was going with it. The plastic hull and idler stub axles gave out first which meant a new hull and then things began to get out of hand and I now have a heavy weight monster which has kept Welsh Dragon and Forgebear in profits over the last three months. I am calling a halt to the build as it's about time I painted it. (Some might even say it's about time I actually saw if the thing can actually run!)
I have found lots of useful information on here so I thought it was time to put my head above the parapit and introduce myself.
Probably not the forum for it but I do have one small question. I've bought a metal barrel and a Mato metal mantlet for the Tiger, everything goes together fine but it appears that the shoulder on the barrel needs to be turned down by about 10mm as the breach end is short and won't mate up with the breach. Has anyone else found this??
Once again. Hello and thank you.
DRC

G'day Mr DRC, no matter the location of the question, its good to have you along and even better to know you are also adding to the GDP of the tank economy by going broke to get parts & sidelining the Mrs while doing it !!

I'm from a small village just outside Kingston upon Hull (UK) or 'Ull' as the residents call it, myself I'm from a much more civilised county (Lincolnshire) but have been living here doing misonary work with the heathen inhabitants.
