RCTank.de Panther G Upgrades and Makeover

This section is for builds that are not strictly Tamiya or Heng Long. For instance, replacing the electronics from a WSN or Matorro, or even a scratch-build.

A hastily made video, the multiple attempts at starting it are due to a loose pcb in the tx, not the Elmod. Sounds can be +100% to -100%. The engine sound volume is -25%, the gun is +100%.

Thank you for posting the video. I see you were using the momentum feature, I don't use mine much. The engine sounds were loud for only being set at 25%, are you using a sound modifier? I'm in the process of looking for a US distributor.

Just a bog standard board, no amp or anything at all added, its using a Visiton FRS7 4 ohm, though it should really have the 8 ohm version. I decided that the dark lacquer that was applied by the vendors was way too heavy, it almost made the tank look black even though you could see the camo in the pics, they would have been better off just shading the edges really. I am about 80% of the way through taking most of it off and leaving streaks. It saves me the job of respraying it all and then adding streaks to the new paint. Might chop the front mudguards off too just for that battle weary look.

You've made progress on the paint removal and streaking, it looks good. What's next?

Need to do the wheels and give it a light dusting then matt lacquer it all. Will try and 3D print a night sight to mount the IR emitter. Tracks need doing as well. Might even add a bit of ricochet damage here and there.

I was inspired by this diorama, it's quite famous on the web, and very well done.

You've inspired me. I ordered the same tank on Friday afternoon. Should be here in about eight weeks.

8? Last time I sent a tank to the U.S. It took 2 days with UPS economy.

For some reason shipping from Germany is very very slow. He also uses DHL, maybe that's the problem?? I'm glad the IBU2's arrive in just over a week. And that reminds me.

I should move this thread, it started as a 'look what I bought' and turned into something else entirely.

Well after a long period of getting distracted by other builds, I finally got around to repainting the Panther. Needs some decals, as Do my other tanks, but it's 99% there.
