Re: heng long vs taigen vs torro
Newer HL don't have molded tools anymore. Interesting the full metal Mato Sherman that just came out and runs about $600U.S. apparently has molded tools!
Just depends on which model you want and whether they have a newer version or not.

Re: heng long vs taigen vs torro
Good Afternoon,
You have to do a little bit of research on the tank you're interested in with each Manufacturer. Sometimes their higher end versions offer better options for detail. Sometimes not. I have one of Taigen's newest and best offerings, the Tiger1 Three In One kit and even there, the upper deck has the molded on plastic tools that will have to be removed before I can add better tools. Taigen also offers a high end ( 95% ) metal Sherman like Mato but the tools there are add ons I believe. Research is required before you buy.
regards,
Painless

Hello, I've been following along and the new Taigen Sherman does have molded on tools. Here is a photo of the rear of mine.

I'm not sure your looking at the right one Alpha. The Mato and Taigen are one in the same bodies as far as I know and the tools are molded on. The picture of Jtracks is the one that is painted but you can get a plain metal one

To behonest it actually doesn't look bad. They did a nice job painting them up but if you want something original a lot of grinding involved...

Joe,
I have to say that those are some of the best looking molded on tools that I have ever seen. The hammer and shovel even stand proud of the deck. If I had to have molded on tools, those are top drawer.

They're bolted on I think and can be removed.dgsselkirk wrote:I'm not sure your looking at the right one Alpha. The Mato and Taigen are one in the same bodies as far as I know and the tools are molded on. The picture of Jtracks is the one that is painted but you can get a plain metal one

Re: heng long vs taigen vs torro
Just another two cents...think the Taigen tools aren't molded on either.... you can't get that kind of air under molded on tools

Re: heng long vs taigen vs torro
Here is a photo of the inside of the upper hull where the tools are mounted. I'm glad this subject came up or I would have missed this detail. It appears to me that the tools are add ons and not molded to the deck. When the tank came to me, the tools were already in place so I assumed they were molded onto the deck. Yes, I bought the tank new from Artistic Hobbies. The hammer head is slightly raised above the deck due to a piece that is either part of the hammer, or part of the deck, I can't tell.
