any bass players??

Post by teddyt »

well I obviously have too much time on my hands :haha: :haha: :haha:
I have always wanted to learn an instrument and have taken to electric bass, got myself a Ashton AB400(4 String) and a copy of Rocksmith 2014. Brilliant for learning!!!
but the Ashton does not have enough low end grunt(cheap pick ups), compared to my lads BC Rich Warlock >:< . without spending a damn fortune what basses would give me the sound. I know a good head unit and cab would be ok to pick the Aston up but...I like living here  so volume is a consideration.

I also have a aria pro2 cat I am re-building at present and am thinking of putting a set of BC Rich pups in it??

Hi

i play the bass and currently have an ibanez 4 string soundgear. it's quite a cheap bass but have owned many others like fender jazz and ibanez fretless. my favourite was my alembic bass which was graphite one piece and pickups were active it sounded awesome ! so was the price £1600 in the mid eighties.why not replace the pick ups or buy a 5 string bass ? that'll give more bass. Do you use a plectrum or your fingers ? I'm guessing you can't slap bass yet ? Also look at a little trace elliot bass amp

hope it helps

I played bass in a garage band in the 60's, even cut a few records, and a good amp and speaker can make a big difference in the sound you get out of your instrument.
