IBU2 PRO
Hi guys looking for some advice on the IBU2 PRO multi function unit that RCTank.de is selling for 249euro.
1. Is this a good price for this unit?
2. What benefits would I get by having this fitted?
3. How easy is the installation and set up between TX & RX?
If it's worthwhile I'm looking into fitment for all my tanks.
Thanks

Sorry no I didn't know that you were the vendor for this item.

With regards to the rest of my questions please could you give me so,e of your professional advice with regards to this product and how I would benefit from fitting it to my tanks?
Thanks

Re: IBU2 PRO
Hi Merlin,
Benefits of the IBU2 is better sound and tank control, plus the ability to change the sounds either with the supplied ones or your own custom ones. The advantages of the Pro over the Base is if using a 6 channel radio you can start the engine with channel 5 and channel 6 gives you 3 user sounds. It also allows use of higher voltage batteries up to 12v plus servo control to elevation and traverse.
It is dead easy to install in a RX18 tank simply unplug and plug into the IBU2 no modifications to wiring needed. The hardest bit is configuring with a radio as each manufacturer is slightly different. I do a package for an extra £30 and supply a 6 channel radio already wired to the IBU2 and all configured so this removes the confusion and you get a 2.4ghz transmitter.
Check out my website it has videos of some of my tanks with the IBU2 fitted.

Re: IBU2 PRO
Hi Ian,
The package sounds good to me, how does the transmitter you provide stand up against the likes of the Turnigy ones people on here are using?
Also what will I need to get this battle ready for the likes of the Manchester meet?

Re: IBU2 PRO
The radio is a FlySky CT6B which is a budget 6 channel 2.4ghz radio so not as good as the Turnigy 9X and 9XR. With an optional USB lead and software you can program the budget radio with some features but most of it seems aimed at the flying market with mixing channels etc which we don't need.
IR, various options available -
Tamiya battle unit - prices vary from about £75 upwards
Impact battle unit - about £50 but buying from over seas so may get hit for import duties
HL or Taigen battle unit - about £10-15 but due to not taking hits at long range not really accepted at MAD
Square One battle unit - £7.50 but it's an electronic kit which needs self assembling
All the above are plug in to top of turret, so have advantage of sharing between tanks if you have more than one tank.
I sell Vampire - £25 this is a pre wired system meant for hiding in your tank. It has the advantage of been hidden so not spoiling your tank look but not transferable between tanks
Next time your at MAD we can talk more if that helps.
