You also wouldn't buy a proper smart charger for lipos and seem to have no understanding of batteries so I'll take your opinions with a pinch of salt. However I need a big 2s pack for one of my boats so consider this challenger accepted.....

Now if some one could give me the link because I can't seem to find it on hobbyking :(
Don't need to ...got one already :haha:

looks like this :D ...29 dollars US... has lasted over 8 yrs

No Tom you gotta put it in a tank... I know it's made for a different RC vehicle ...but the subject is to try it in a tank...Boats and RC cars have larger motors...so that's kind of copping out putting it in one of those... Put it in a tank ...that's itImage

Thanks for the input though Tom :haha:

I just meant that I have other uses for it in addition to tanks. FYI the boat in question uses 385 sized motors. However I will be trying it in a tank too.

Good Morning,
Question here from someone who hasn't yet used a LIPO battery in anything. What is the smaller three pin plug on the battery for? Used in charging it?
Thanks in advance,
Painless

hey alpha I feel bad, everyone seems to get at you, but they are right , think your just mixing up amp hours and amps (as in current draw) the electronics decide want current/amps they draw, if this battery was more than a 2s (ie 2cell) 7.4v such as a 3s 11.1v it would prob fry the rx18 etc, anyways I will get it and let you know if it rocks! and if any of you get it let me know how it goes! peace out dudes!

hey painless the three pin (or more) is so that each cell can be charged or discharged to the same voltage as lipo,s are very sensitive to under/over charging and can be damaged or destroyed catatrophically

Good Morning again,
Thank you, guys. I've added this to my meager knowledge of LIPOs and how they work.

I'm speaking of current flow...not draw...Lipo current flows faster than carbon based batteries... it's the compound and how it "transmits" the power...a mosfet isn't needed with other batteries...because the way they Transmit the power is more consistent...Lipos are a tad bit on the unstable side... which can cause surges

I don't use mosfets .... mostly because when they burn ... they cost more than an RX
