Re: The SHERMAN thread
The lower part is moulded on the turret, I used small springs from a model boat shop (other springs are available). The top parts come from Pershing antenna bases.
Re: The SHERMAN thread
Tom may have made his his way.........But I invented them... used a stock heng long antenna ..and tubing from the TX antennaB_Man wrote:Nice work Tom.![]()
How did you make your antenna bases?

I made one for Painless wolf's Sherman build as well...he has too taken up the method and has started making his own...it's really easy once you've done it

My design has two spring rates ... the one on my skirted Sherman has full spring back...the one on my Valerie as deadened spring back and the antenna can be positioned in bent back or straight up ....whichever way you want ...but that "how to" is top secret

Basically got the idea while staring at Painless's schumo antenna he used on his first Sherman build

They are both very clever designs and both look great. That second design is a good use for all those Heng Long antennas and TX antennas I have laying about the garage too.

I'm afraid I can't take any credit forgebear made some for his m50 and m51 long before me! They do wobble very satisfyingly when they're not pinned back!B_Man wrote:They are both very clever designs and both look great. Believe me B Man... once you start making them ...those extra antennas and TX antennas will evaporate quicklyB_Man wrote:They are both very clever designs and both look great. That second design is a good use for all those Heng Long antennas and TX antennas I have laying about the garage too.

I was under the impression Dave built the turrets and Nigel did the hulls.fynsdad wrote:Really Tom? I think you know know thats wrong....credit where credit's due.....I can't take any credit forgebear made some for his m50 and m51 long before me!

Totally understand frank, and likewise.fynsdad wrote:I maybe wrong then, if so I apologise. I do not like to see people getting credit for others work. Maybe one of them will come on to clarify.....
