Issues with Tamiya KT

Post by tigerace007 »

Hi all,

Im nearing completion of my KT, its been a labour of love and i have spent alot on upgrades but i have some running issues.

I have a Planet T5 2.4ghz. Transmitter and receiver.

The recoil when triggered seems to go back and forth half a dozen times and not just a single smooth recoil?

It drives well forward and backward but the right stick moves left and right, not up for forward and down for reverse.
The left control stick is unresponsive when trying to makes a turn, it seems to me the transmitter / receiver may be configured incorrectly.

I wonder if i should go to an analogue system.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Stu

Hallo Stu

I have the same set up as you, I'm not at home at the moment, so this is from memory..could well be wrong.

Have a try of this configuration..

DMD-Channel 1 to Rx Channel 4
DMD-Channel 2 to Rx Channel 1
DMD-Channel 3 to Rx Channel 3
DMD-Channel 4 to Rx Channel 2

have a try I'm not sure...

Hi chaps, reconfiguring the channels on the receiver worked. The recoil is also fixed as the metal plate wasnt making the micro switch and shutting it off on the return stroke.

All i have left to sort out is the rubbish turret rotation, metal tracks slipping on the drive sprocket and for some reason the tank does not shut down when the transmitter is switched off?

I also want to add a quick charging jack and relocate the on off switch.

Cheers,

Stu

Jake what transmitter are you using? Some people have reported similar issues with the dx5 and the latest orange rx. For cold start I thing you need to turn on the tx first

For what its worth I had a Tamiya Panther and had the same issues, also using a Planet tx.

The tx has to be chimed in to the MFU, as per the destructions in the build manual, and even then I had to move the trims to get the tx to send the start and fire signals to the receiver. It was a hairline adjustment, but I got used to it.

One thing that I found interesting was that if you take the back off the rx, there is a mode 1/2 switch. I found that if I switched modes, and reconfigured the channels, I could run the Panther in Heng Long mode, which was just a personal preference for me as all of my other tanks ran that way running Clark, SLU, and Elmod boards. I found it more convenient to be able to turn the turret whilst the tank was moving and fire the gun at the same time.

The plus was that I had one tx, and the rx in each tank was bound to it. I simply had to switch on any tank and they all ran the same way regardless of which boards were installed.

Cheers

As I had trouble getting the machine gun to fire, I thought I'd have another go..(Planet T5)

This is the correct way to set up Tx/Rx...right trim down for cannon/up for mg

dmd rudd-rx2
dmd thot-rx1
dmd mg fire-rx3
dmd turr-rx4
