Pretty Nice Woz ...kind of looks like cast resin (the brittle kind)...but I'm sure it's very durable..I also find it interesting that it isn't as grainy as the parts Edwin has made...are there settings on the machine or is it the type of filament ?

Not sure if it's economically feasible to do a Tiger... but I'm sure it would be worth while to do a "Paper" type tank or one that isn't currently produced...maybe even a
British tank... perhaps it could get to a point where the hobby pays for itself

The filament is PLA which does look kind of rough. I can also use ABS which looks the same when printed but melts with plastic glue or Acetone so can be smoothed down easily.

I'm already making plans for and Priest and Cromwell-


I'm just starting out with this 3D printing so I've still got a lot to learn.

This guy had a lot of CAD experience but only started 3D printing in January and hes already doing this - http://donfoley.com/3d-printing/project ... -curiosity

And he's doing this on the same printer as the one I've got.

Also there are new materials coming out all the time, Flexible ABS (great for making tyres) and Soluble ABS which you can use to support complicated prints then just wash away.

I've been making my hobby pay for a long time but this 3D printing is a whole new world.

Hi very impressed with the 3d printing, great job for the first job its fantastic.A little light sanding and paint will look the dogs dangles.

That looks pretty darn good.... maybe you should scan the entire tank...and start over again ...just kidding... but at the rate you are going with that 3D printer... you'll be making entire tanks in no time

I was thinking of doing a Matilda but decided to do a Cromwell instead as there's more space inside and parts can be used for other cruiser tanks.

Also I grew up in Leyland where they designed and built the Cromwell (and later the Centurion) and my first toy tank was a 1/32 Cromwell-

Not sure yet.

I'm designing it from the top down. So I'll see how the T-34 bottom fits.
