Housing covers for 3:1 steel gears

Post by Edwin »

Hi all,

Ralf has m as I recently brought up with an idea to provide the 3:1 steel gears with a cover.
So I sat down in the evening when I was in the business time and a little drawn.

Image

And so the prototypes are already in print.

Tomorrow I can see ma exactly how they fit and if necessary adjust anything else.

I'm still not happy with it.

This is the second option and I have to adjust the cap in a few places and around the drive wheel a little better.

In the third variant, I just draw and this fits most then.

Today coming from the printer early covers are now almost usable.

I've made ??a few small changes to cover also the last gap and better gestallten especially the enclosure of the drive shaft, but that should be it now.

So the first four pairs are now in print.

However, there will be such that one on the drive axle to the tub for installation and something has to adapt depending on space and reinforced the covers. Depending on how much space is available in each tank.

And today I have taken the time Asiatam flat gear into the business.
Time seeing how I as a full coverage approaches, and bring a few Tamiya gear I have are still here.

Excellent work! And a part I for one would like to have. When Asiatam first introduced the Tiger lower hulls they included a new component tray. I used this tray but found the layout was not optimal for the other modifications I wanted. Specifically the elevated MFU to allow dual fan cooling, Vertical mounting of the receiver to allow cleaner wire routing, and a reposition of the smoker location.

My point being custom component tray to mount upgraded components have not evolved with the lower hulls. This might be a worthy project to attempt? I have included a picture of the original layout. Even the RX18 ENCLOSURE could be created which has fan mounting to allow airflow cooling? I am sure the possible creations are almost endless,

Hi Blake,

thank you, but they are not quite ready yet. First she needs to be tested by a friend.

For your proposal. There is certainly a world of difference, but you can for individual pieces do not underestimate the effort required for such a component until it comes out perfect from the printer.
Basically, I'll be there but have to make a few things.
The material is suitable for example for excellent speaker boxes.
I have a printed me exactly matches my Jagdpanther and the sound is much duller and become better than a plastic box made ??of boards.

Cheers, Edwin

Now the covers are done constructively .

Just as she now has to come out of the printer you but first remove the support Struck doors, which is not so difficult but .
To do this simply pushes a knife or a thin screwdriver under it and levering it on the sides , piece by piece from . The PLA used then breaks off brittle.

And so do the insides without these supporting structures.

Image

If you then have the space in the tank , you can simply back the covers , like start in this picture and simply clip it with a little caution to the front.

Image

Unfortunately, it will not be when the transmission queue directly on the front possible in all Hull. Since one must then match the best cut off the front, with a small blade.

And this is what the covers then the transmissions from now .

And here I have put them in a KV- bath times.

Yesterday I casually sometimes drawn a first prototype for a cover of the Asiatam flat gear.

Image

Since both of these pair of gears are the same, but mirrored and I just have to adjust a print first. If this fits then simply reflect the drawing and I have two matching covers.

Let's see if I can still print the prototypes evening today?

Today, the first prototype was ready now.

When I tried but I had to then determine the fit, it was probably been but a bit late and a long day as I drew the .....

But never mind, because the first component anyway never true. So improved and currently has been running the printing of the second prototype.
