Air soft ammo

Post by Jnewboy »

I have said that my Sherman miss fires on the factory 6mm ammo. One suggested firing metal 6mm through it. Has anyone ever tried other air soft ammo in their tanks? Like the type that marks its target?

I worked on airsoft rifles for 15yrs... I cannot stress to you ...DO NOT USE METAL AIRSOFT BBs...they will ruin your mechanism

Just buy High grade 20 grm bbs... my personal choice is TSD

but there are many others KING ARMS...CLASSIC ARMY...ICS

CROSMAN has a line...they are decent...the difference is the polish.... the TSDs and ICS have the nicest finish ..high gloss with no seams...there are decent 12 grm bbs... but generally because they are used in really cheap airsoft guns.. there is no real precision to them...

Some available from Crosman have a graphite coating which actually lubricates the mech... they also have glow in the dark "tracer" bbs ICS..also makes tracers

I know I have said this before but the laws governing air weapons and their ammunition in the UK is vastly different from the laws in most States of the United States, The airsoft gun and airsoft ammo used in Heng Long Tanks conform to the laws pertaining to toys in the UK, If you change the gun or the ammo do be aware that the constabulary may take an interest, Just a harmless comment. shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Good Afternoon,
I also would not recommend using either the 'factory' ammo nor metal shot in these airsoft mechanisms. I prefer the Crosman 12grm and use the glow in the dark variety. They are a lot of fun after dark especially if you have charged up the bottle before hand with exposure to a lamp. ;o)
regards,

I agree Painless... tracers are very cool... and a lot of fun... you should see them as they fly out of an airsoft rifle on full auto...the trail looks like mini roman candles :D
I pop mine out during the forth of July and New Years...since fireworks are illegal here now... they conform to the regulation lol

Thanks for the BB info guys...just ordered some 20g.
I replaced the red warning LEDs with these cheap lasers (https://www.fasttech.com/products/1453713)....helps with aiming from the third person view. They are direct replacement, just solder in as the LED (keeping resistor in circuit [voltage drop]) and just super-glued too the "peep hole" of the mantle.
