Many thanks guys, Have to admit I have painted figures for many years, as I was a wargamer, but this is the biggest mini so far.

Painting a rough guide to how I did it.

the usual prep work was done to clean up the sprues and gave them a wash in a mild washing up liquid / water solution, only mild liquid as it can defeat the object of the cleaning process, then allowed it to dry.
cut off and cleaned up the parts I needed, gluing them together with superglue, ( I use this rather than plastic cement because im used to working with  white metal miniatures).

I then used Green Stuff to fill any unwanted joints ect, and sculpted/blended it into the plastic around the joints, when this had cured I then proceeded with the undercoat.
The undercoat is basically grey car primer, why grey and not black/white I hear you ask, well to be honest I use grey because it doesn't dull lighter colours like Black undercoat, and in the same vein it doesn't make the lighter colours too gaudy and bright. some people prefer white or Black and as ever each is to their own..

Paints, I do use a multitude of makes, but all are Acryillic medium, Decoart, Anita's, Americana to name but a few, I also use ink washes to varying degrees to help shade and blend colours.

hope that helps, if you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will try and help if I can.

Foxy :)

will bear the offer in mind foxy. why dont you do a detailed write up in the hints and tips page, on how to paint figures to this standard, i'm sure it would prove very popular
