Did some painting on the gun assembly, nothing spectacular as it will be seen only through the cupola in the internal shadows. BTW the built up section on top is sheet styrene layers to level up the gun when fitted.

And my Solder paint arrived as well, so will be practicing on the Aber fenders!

More laters
I see the paint can affect fertility.,.., might get some to put in my sons food.

Yes, it's all looking good Derek!

Sorry you had trouble with the Milliput weld beads. I can only say that Magic Sculp / Sculpt proved much better for this task. It's just less sticky. Perhaps you need to wait for the Milliput to cure a little longer before you apply tools to it - and remember to keep wetting those with water.

I have to confess that I was slightly disappointed to learn that you are going for a static tank. Believe me, as a dyed-in-the-wool 1/35 modeller from my youth I have struggled with the electronics side of this hobby - but I still believe that the extra dimension that movement and sound gives you in this scale is what helps to make it special.

Either way I am sure this will turn out to be a memorable build - and hopefully not just for the amount of DNA you are depositing on the tank!

Going on a mission to get me some of that.

By the way, cudos to you Mr Froman for the gun and cupola interior details,

Maybe I am a bit(lot) biased, but the Tiger commanders sure do seem to get that extra "oomph" when it comes to getting the best out of H/L's offering of the stock unit ?
yeah, righto, im biased............ :shh: :shh:
Herman, everyone in the turret will be getting a seat and wall mounted bits to look at...

Tonight I have been making some very quick tank wall bits...no finesse as they will barely be seen.

Image

Also made a turret motor thing that sits near the commanders seat...made from a plastic bottle top ( cut down ) a 5p piece, a button battery and a few bits from the scraps box.

Put some lenses onto the periscopes but they are too green so will be re-doing them I think..

Tanks FTM...so sorry man that its a static... I have so many projects on the go that I just need a "easy" and "inexpensive" ( :haha: ) project to quickly bang out ( :haha: ). Once I decided to add some interior detail there was only one way to go

Sorry to everyone, but hope you all continue to drop by and watch the build progress.

Herman..all soldering will be done outside with respirator, as for kids..three is enough for me anyway :haha:

Thanks for looking in...

I'm enjoying watching your build. I'm learning lots about the intricacies of the world of Tigers.
Tiger 1. KV1, T34/85 and PkzIII all by Heng Long, painted and moded by me. It's fun and tricky stuff.

The turret is almost ready to seal up. That means I can get stuck into the detailing of the hull and getting that etch on.

Here is where she is at at the moment:

Walkabout

Mostly styrene sheet of Plastruct shaped sections used. The MG ammunition sacks are milliput, with styrene detailing.

Some quick dusting with mig weathering pigments...job done. Its obviously not real world accurate, its not meant to be.

So go easy on me OK

Question: On an early Tiger, what colour's were available for the crew seat cushions?. I have them brown...but have seen somewhere black and maybe a dark green? Hard to say what the real colours could be in photos...due to lighting etc.

Anyone know?...over to David.

Once the seats are the right colour, then its seal up the turret and on to the body.

Thanks for stopping bye.

Well Mr Froman, after your effort, you could upholster them in subtle Crocodile skin and you would not get any objection from me.

I've looked into a few Panzers with their original fittings, and Black is the only colour that I've seen. Including the Bovington Tiger of course.

I have loved this build from the beginning and you have truly spent blood tears and sweat upon it.
I know that the amount of money I have spent on my Tigers the crew should be luxuriating in plush leather club arm chairs. :lolno: shaun
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
