It's beginning to look a lot like.... A Matilda !

It's moving along quite quickly, I should have the gearboxes from Forgebear (thanks Dave and Julie) in the next few days and I can crack on with the chassis.

The gearboxes have arrived (many thanks Dave and Julie at Forgebear) and much fun was had fitting them into the chassis! 8O   :/ . Anyway after a couple of redesigns to the back panel I was able to shoehorn the Stug gearboxes in.

I'm currently redesigning the mantlet for recoil and I've printed the barrel. No chance of muzzle flash on that one, it's too small to get wires down it.

Pics to follow

Would it not be possible to run a length of fibre optic down the barrel with the led in the Turret? Much the same as is done with machine guns

How much physical space do you have inside the turret with the mantlet in place?

Yes if i'd had the right diameter brass tube instead of brass rod I could have run a fiber optic :/ :D , so for next build that would be a goer. There's quite a lot of space in the turret - see the pics. With the machine gun also, some brass tube and fiber optic would be the answer.
