Good morning, Jimster!
Thanks for looking in. The effect will come to Life with the entire vehicle illuminated by a pulse UV lamp. :o)

That takes some intestinal fortitude to risk funky paint on a model mate.
I’m sure you’ll nail it, because I sure wouldn’t even try it !!

Herman!,
Good morning! I will certainly be keeping an eye on those painted scraps over the next few days to see what , if anything, occurs with the military flats they were originally painted with.
regards,
Painless

Painless,

Very nice fine detail for the Sherman. I really like what I'm seeing from that UV paint. It sure has the eerie blue glow to it that I pictured from reading the book.

Cheers,
Eric.

Eric,
I was very pleased with the paint. It has done nothing to the scrap samples that I can discern and has lost none of the color and illumination a few days later on. I am going to get a pulse UV Lamp and see if I can make the glow effect 'move', ( darken and brighten ). We will see how that goes. Thanks for looking in again. Next detail session is tomorrow night.
regards,
Painless

Got a few hours to work on the Build while the Spouse streamed online. Today was hatches and turret detail fun. I wanted to do something to the plain jane hatch interiors that Mato provides with these tanks. I had sufficient scrap and spares of all imaginable types and configuration to detail the underside of the Loaders, Drivers and Aux Drivers hatches. I added some periscope protection on the turret ( left over MATO periscope guards ) and replaced the vane type Commanders manual rangefinder with a later type. I considered adding the mounts for the raincover over the main gun mantlet and trunnions but could find no photograph or illustration showing their positioning. Maybe this main gun was sealed against the elements unlike the 105mm mounted on 'Maxene'. Inspiration came from this site, one that I have used before for Sherman Builds: http://the.shadock.free.fr/sherman_minu ... 3_75w.html I found the last of my resin 50.cal cans in the open configuration. A little sanding was needed to get one to fit in the metal M2's tray but it will look great with the brass ammo when I return to it. Definitely better than the closed HL Can I tested it with... Next up, the interior of the Commander's hatch and testing the new IR Jagdpanther Upper.

Painless,

Nice progress on the Sherman, it's coming along very well. I love all the little details that you're adding, makes all the difference in the world. I'm jumping way ahead here, but have you put any thought into the insignia that was on Von Norden's JP? All through the book and even afterwards, I've been trying to picture what the author had in his mind.

It'll be interesting to see your interpretation of the woodland Elfin creature with the SS runes.

Cheers,
Eric.
