Hi Michael,

You are correct, the screws holding the 2 transfer covers together are now too short, what I did was make some new bolts from some 1.6 mm threaded bar I had and glued a nut to one end fed it through the now longer holes and put a washer and nut on the other end which can be easily removed for any maintenance
What i did when adding the extra rear section was to make a plate which fits snuggly between the c channel, I then drilled holes at either end of the bridging plate and through the original chassis ( 1 into the original frame and 1 into the new added section ) when bolted together it is very strong, hope this helps

Here is what I ended up doing. I actually use the donor truck's rear bumper frame as a supporting frame to join the new frame to the old frame. There is enough room between the last set of axle mount point. This made it really nice and clean and hidden as well. I was going to use some nuts and bolts to tighten it, but it fits snugly and I just end up super glue it on. I also didn't make a new linkage but rather cut the existing one down so that it fits the new length between the last two sets of axles and it seems to work fine. Didn't end up using anything extra other than the donor truck bits and pieces.

Nice job Michael the only thing I would say is that if you plan on keeping the standard truck wheels it will be fine but the reason why I butted the 2 leaf spring mounts up against each other with no gap is because the tyres I used are 10mm in diameter smaller than the original truck tyres so the gap between the 2 tyres would have been too wide when viewed from the side ,

No this is it for me. Not going to bother with the tires. The space between the rear set of tires what somewhat because I didn't want to scratch build a linkage, so I cut the existing one down to an acceptable length and mounted the suspension accordingly. I think there is about 9mm between the mount points of the two set of suspension.

Morning Michael, how do you find the truck runs now that its 6x6 mine runs great but it's just going to be a battlefield runner as I think with the new wheels and tyres it's ability for rough off road driving is limited. I hope in the near future someone will release a 2.5 ton deuce 1/2 cab for this truck or maybe somebody cleverer than I with a 3D printer could make one as I'd love one of those for my next build

I hope no one minds my interference in this brilliant series of projects,
But in my experience in the service (British Army early 60s- late 70s) (1/4 tonners GPs to 38 Tonne Aircraft Refueller's ) All of them had Single tyres on an axle front or rear, single axle or multi-axle, this includes draw bar trailers, the larger trucks were Super singles,
I never saw a double tyred wheel on an axle except coincidently for an Antar Tank Transporter,
