Re: WWII Movies Coming Soon
There is also a Band of Brothers type series coming out following a group of Marines in the Pacific called... The Pacific. Same production company as BOB with Hanks & Speilberg involved and its another HBO show so it should be pretty good.

Re: WWII Movies Coming Soon
I hope it works out better than the 'Thin Red Line' or whatever it was called - that was about 15 mins of hard fact (the assault on the japanesse fortification got a MOH for the character played by John Cussack) and another hour of artsy conceptual bulls**t!
Band of Brothers is still the benchmark for me, anything else falls short of portraying the horror of war and the heroism of the guys that lived thru it.
(not to say that I don't thoroughly enjoy any war movie featuring John Wayne or one based on a book by Alister Maclean - but those movies don't pretend to be acurate )
On reflection anything based on a book by Cornelious Ryan works for me (Longest day, Bridge too far, Band of Brothers)
