Rally Raid truck

My other RC interest is crawers and trucks. I had an FTX Mauler but it has a boring bodyshell, so what to do with it? I fitted a 35T motor and a Quicrun 1060 esc, and then set about designing a rally raid truck shell for it. It actually came out very nicely, and performs well off road, so I am happy with it.

Short clip of a Sunday run down at Rhoose Point, a great place for trucks and tanks, I was running my modified JJRC Q46, and the truck.

Cool, thanks for sharing Rob

That beige dust cart looking one, please tell me the original model was cheap, cos the size of the running gear looks just right for an idea I have.

It's based on an FTX Mauler, which is built like a barn door. They are around £160, and pretty big. There is a military 6x6 in the video that someone made using the same chassis, except he made extensions to turn it into 6 wheel drive. Amazingly, his shell is basically a toy £15 fire engine, and the missile launchers are made from Steredent tubes. He used the ladder mechanism off the toy truck as well so the tubes raise and lower hydraulically.

Oh, ok, thanks.

Yeah, nothing like a bit of up-cycling.

The vehicle I have in mind would need a wider and slightly longer chassis that the heng long one, for figures six inches tall.

Mick.
