Pak 40

Post by PainlessWolf »

Got this great old piece for Christmas as a gift to myself with some built up credit card points off of Amazon. It looks nice as is but once I have a truck or half track to limber it around with, it and the gunner will get a paint job and weathering. Pictures:

Very nice Painless. I have been eyeing this set for a bit now. How does it look sitting next to the 1/16s .

Michael,
Here are a few shots of it sitting next to the biggest tank in my collection, the HL Porsche turreted King Tiger. It looked fine to me. 21st Century's scale meter always ran a tiny bit bigger than the early Ultimate Soldier men and equipment 1:18 series.

That's impressive Painless, looks good next to the KT.

I like the detailed ammo too in the crates.

Merlin,
I have been wanting one of these for a while and looking at them like Michael. It was between this or the 1:18 Flak 36 and the deciding factor was what kind of vehicle could pull them. With the Pak 40, I can use one of the easily available Opel Blitz trucks to pull it in limber. With the Flak 36, I would have to shell out for a larger vehicle like a ZugKraftWagen 7. More fun on the way this year.

Nice find there painless, a good start to 2015. Look forward to seeing it hitched up to something. The figures are cool too, looks good next to the king kitty.

Looks really smart that. I used to get Amazon gift vouchers as a freebie from my credit card but they stopped doing it recently ......so I kicked that card into touch :haha:

As said - looks well against the KT.
Tamiya King Tiger (no options)
Taigen Full Metal T34 (winter)
Heng Long Challenger II (European camo')
Tamiya Tiger I full options (still in the box)

Herman,
Good Morning! I hadn't really thought about it. It is a StG 44' ( or supposed to be ) that came with the figure. I set that fellow there as the Pak 40 and gunner don't take up a lot of space of the shelf. Once I get an RC truck or halftrack to pull the gun, I'll do a detail and weathering job on the gun and gunner and add that fellow in as well and correct his weapon. Lots and lots to do this year.
regards,
Painless
