1/125 u-boat wreck.

The brass plaque has a poem.

U-BOAT POEM

INTO THE DEPTHS WE VALIANTLY GO,

DOWNWARDS INTO THE INKY GLOOM.

TOUCHING BOTTOM WE COME TO REST,

TO SLEEP FOREVER IN OUR IRON TOMB.

Very nice rust effect . After viewing some stills and videos of u boats wrecks most seem to have had at least the tops of the ballast tanks rusted away when in the state of deterioration you have portrait. Might be a nice project to replicate that on your model.
Just a thought though, it looks good as is.

This reminds me a lot of the 1966 movie called "Assault on a Queen." Very cool; thank you for sharing it.

Hi mate, you're very correct and of course no U-boat would also be in a upright position either. This is a second sunken sub I made, the first had damage to the tank areas, this one was a commission piece. The client wanted it as is shown, although I did point out that they rot and are listed, he wanted it as a desk piece, unfortunately he defaulted on payment so I sold the other and kept this.

Glad you like it though.

Ah, I remember that film, Frank Sinatra was in it, using a sub to rob the Queen Mary and some Gold.

Pleased you like it and thank you for taking the time to comment.

Very nice.

Just an observation - you don't tend to get growth & concretion on brass props. This will give you an idea of what the UK waters do to a wreck in a 100 years or so http://www.lochalinedivecentre.co.uk/wp ... /10092.jpg and here http://www.lochalinedivecentre.co.uk/?page_id=482 I've dived both and the colours are amazing.
Hadn't realised subs were always tilted over on the bottom, ships tend to sink on a fairly even keel if the water is deep enough and final resting angle depends on the bottom composition & slope.
