1/200 Yamato Restoration project
1/200 Yamato Restoration project
Had a once in a lifetime opportunity to pick up a 1/200 Yamato . Its in a right state but its only dirt, all the parts are there so its just a case of stripping the paint and doing her up. Sounds simple but Im sure it wont be. Makes a change from tanks.
This is her on the day of her arrival.

Damn how big is it? Don't say 1/200 scale cause I saw that how long is it, it looks huge.
What are the plans? R/C?

Very nice indeed, like you say needs a scrub up, but nothing a bit of elbow grease can't sort out, I have the Trumpy 1/200 USS Missouri brand new still in the box, I will have to build it soon!!

With THAT much room inside I expect to see all the guns function and shoot BB's. Can't wait to see what you do to it!Rocketman wrote:52 inches tip to tip.

Cracking model
Recently built a Tamiya 1/700 scale model of Yamato, the plethora of AA guns at that scale was quite challenging but I think mine came out quite well. I rather like the appearance of the Japanese battleships, might be to do with the shape of the Bridge superstructure.
