Warlord miniatures 1/56 scale 28mm tanks
These are some of my 1/56 scale tanks for the wargame Bolt action, I'm in the process of painting some figures - Brit Commandos and Paras. Fun to build and paint. Very detailed for small scale.

Wow, they look cool Matt
Thanks for sharing.
I'm guessing they are about games workshop figure scale?
Mick.

Yeah they're a similar scale to GW40k Imperial guard, i've seen a few videos on Youtube where they've compared the sizing of the figurines to 1/48th scale Tamiya tanks, (whether you use those for battling or the official Warlord tanks doesn't seem to be frowned on).
I used to collect Warhammer 40k figures and to find a game specific to WW2 tanks is great in my books.

Sorry to be a pain Matt, but did you do a typo with the scale? Aren't 28mm figures close to 1/65th scale?

Yeah, I think the games workshop figures are closer to 30 - 32 mm tall, and a bit on the chunky size, that's why I think modellers favour 48th with them.

These are brilliant pieces. One way to hone your skills is to keep dabbling in smaller scales. I really like the level of detail these guys have.

Yeah I think they're larger- the boxes state 28mm, but looking at 1/48th tamiya figures they're much larger- possibly for handling and painting the details. I've so far got 30+ paras to paint and 30+ Commandos to finish assembling (spent the evening with some sand/gravel and some PVA wood glue basing them up.Son of a gun-ner wrote:Yeah, I think the games workshop figures are closer to 30 - 32 mm tall, and a bit on the chunky size, that's why I think modellers favour 48th with them.

Yeah for about £16 you can buy one and build one in approx 40mins to an hour.c.rainford73 wrote:These are brilliant pieces. One way to hone your skills is to keep dabbling in smaller scales. I really like the level of detail these guys have.
Then experiment with some exotic Octopus/ ambush camouflage scheme without fear of messing up your 1/16 scale tank.
