Kim Olsen's MTCU. Great new electronics, ideal for battling.

Post by Rad_Schuhart »

Hi guys, I reviewed a board which is something special, because is so far, it is a one man army job and the board is still unknown. I really felt honored getting and reviewing one, and really believe it is worth to get it.

You can read the entire review here: https://radindustries.wordpress.com/202 ... sens-mtcu/

As far as I know, yes. But you don't have to mess with Arduino unless you are a software developer or very experienced with it. The board has a friend user software where you can easily modify all the parameters.

These boards look very good, as I too am now turning away from battling in favour of authentic movements and sounds, for shows, could these boards incorporate a sound set that could mimic battle sounds that are user controlled for our running demonstrations at shows?
It’s your tank it’s what you make it

The board plays 24 user sounds and has also another two .wav sound banks which work pretty much as an Mp3 player. You can fit the sound of your choice in every slot in those three sound banks. If battle sounds is what you want, just go for it, lol.
The sounds I am playing are my personal choice, which is tank commander voices, radio chatter and drama music, but if you want something else, go for it and show it :D

Rad is the setup the same as the Open Panzer TCB with similar software? The screen shots are of his setup?

It looks very nice

Hi Carl, it is not exactly the same software but it is strongly based on it. The screenshots I took are from this newer software. It is pretty much the same but adapted to the new specs of the board, corrects some bugs and adds a nice bunch of functions, specially for those interested in RC Battling.

Hi,
Nice to see further development with the outstanding original Open Panzer Open source concept.

I run several Open Panzer TCB's and now make my own using the Arduino Mega board with Lukes excellent Open Panzer software, this keeps the price way low for an excellent TCB.

Unfortunately at 200+ Euros its way, way above my price range ( i understand its a 1 man band concept re time development etc) so will continue down the Arduino Mega DIY TCB route, thx for sharing the info.
I wish him well.

It looks great. It's solved main Open Panzer issuses: the inability to buy a ready-made motherboard and the need to buy an ESCs and expensive sound card.
