While no longer produced, the SLU had many of the added features now common of many after market control boards.

I recall reading a few years back that another company, or maybe it was the same one, was going to manufacture an upgraded version. I have never seen mention of it since. They were a revelation when they came out, basically a Tamiya set up but with additional features. I had one.

The huge drawback was the rats nest of wiring, the IR range, the weird IR mushroom, and an issue with the pcb that held the turret control esc's that had a habit of melting at the slightest provocation.

I kept my old one for years thinking I might use it one day, but in the end it went into the garbage bin as the new crop of boards were better in all respects.
