Recommend a me radio for a Leo 2 A6

Post by Death Head »

I've got a kit winging it's way to me from Germany as we speak, I just need some advice on what radio to run? I have been recommended a Futaba 4YWD, but I thought I would ask on here before I bought anything, I have a lot of experience with Hl stuff but Tamiya tanks are new to me lol

Cheers DH

The Futaba 4YWD is the recommended controller for Tamiya tanks so its a safe bet.

My King Tiger uses a Carson 6 channel controller (http://www.wonderlandmodels.com/product ... nel-24ghz/) and its faultless. However I bought a Spektrum DX6i and will replace the receivers in my Tiger 1, King Tiger and soon to be built Leopard 2A6 with AR6000 receivers so they can be controlled from 1 controller. The downside to the DX6i is no self centering throttle, smartsafes need disabling and digital trims so there is some setup time needed for each kit you bind to it. There are lots of other solutions though.

Cheers for the reply, I'm not fussed about multi model memory so the Futaba looks spot on

Planet T5 is a very nice piece of kit.

You only need one spring kit as the right lever is already springed.

Think I'll go for a T5, is the 5th channel any use with the Leopard?

Not really..... Nothing extra on the MFU to control, but you could use it with a mod at a later date.
