Which receiver with DX6i and Tamiya tanks

Post by MPFIEND »

Good afternoon,

I have three Tamiya tanks, a King Tiger, Leopard 2 A6 and a JS-2. The leopard and the JS-2 are still in their boxes and the Tiger is undergoing a full restoration at the moment.

I am looking to purchase a Spektrum DX6i transmitter so I can have all three tanks on the same tx.
My question is, what receivers do you recommend for the Dx6i and these tanks? And what is the best way to set up the DX6i for use with these models.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Best Regards

Keith

Thanks for the replies Gents,
How do you have your tx's set up for use with the tamiya models?
I understand it can be done but takes some extra programming of the DX6i and different wiring of the receiver, DMD and MFU.
Any help on this would be greatly received as I am completely new to this and I want to try and understand it before the tank is ready for the install of the system.

Thanks very much,

Keith.

No Problem Lister,

I was hoping that some one on here could help as the DX6i does seem to be a popular choice for tank modellers. I have found an article elsewhere about setting up the TX but the screen shots are missing so some of the text is not so clear, especially on the channel mixing.

Complete Guide to setting up the Spektrum DX6i

I wanted to get this part straight in my head before I committed to buy the DX6i then regretted it later when I couldn't get all the functions to work correctly.

Best Regards
