HL Pershing problem

Post by JeremyB »

Hi guys

This is my first post here regarding one of my tanks. I did say hello in the new members thread.

Anyways I pulled out one of my Pershing tanks today thinking lets fire this thing up for the first time in years. I put in a freshly charged battery pack and new batteries into the transmitter and turned it on. Once on I checked turret rotation and that was good it work fine. I then tried to move the tank forward and could hear a low hum buzz noise from one of the motors but the tank wouldn't move aside from some intermittent spurts from the one motor. I took off the top turret to take a look and didn't see anything but still it was doing the same thing

What would you guys think the issue might be? Any help would be awesome

Jeremy,

I can't offer any advice about your RC tank issue, but I do offer my condolences about your cat. Just today I found out my German Shepherd has Pannus. 2020 I would like to forget...forever. :(

Regards,
Eric.

Process of elimination! RX-13 controller is 27Mhz. Right joystick controls track direction correct? You have multiple controllers?

1. Tank Off. Hook up motor direct to 6-8V DC power. If motor turns then OK.
2. Switch frequency crystal to a different controller and turn both Transmitter and Tank on. Test controls, if still not working, it likely in the main board (RX-13). Test Old Transmitter on a different tank to ensure not transmitter issues *Gimbal potentiometers".
3. If Board is determined the failed item, replace.

does the turret rotation work? therefore the radio does not operate anything that blocks the motors, remove the tracks, and see if the motors are running, also pay attention to the battery charge. there can be enough current for the turret, but not enough for both engines? if old and not maintained batteries? an element can be out of order! what voltage and capacity at the end of charging?
