Advice on MFU replacement for Heng Long T-34

Post by wyvern »

Hi,

On a visit to my local hobby shop, I succumbed to a bit of an impulse purchase sold as non working so quite cheap. Thought it might be a loose wire or something similar. When I took it home an opened it up, I noticed the MFU was missing which might explain it not working. some photos below - I have worked out its a V5.2 hl 2.4 ghz transmitter and the label on the tank states that it was made in Nov 2014. One option is to get a new MFU which I believe is all that's required. Just need some confirmation that the item on the link below is suitable (believe its at V5.2 mfu);

Are there any differences between the 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 version MFUs or is it all in the transmitter?

If you scroll to the bottom of this page on Heng Long Panzer; you'll get an idea of the differences:

'Version' numbers seem to vary according to which vendor's website you're looking at. :problem:
Here's Haya's take on MFUs and transmitters:

I guess the 2014 MFU version would be the 3rd generation 2.4G one. The latest ( 2 Sound) version would require some wiring mods, a new MFU and Transmitter to get the full benefit of the improvements.
Then there's the binding issue....
There's quite a lot of stuff on HL MFU variations in the Archives here.
