Alright can anyone tell me WHY I just wasted 90 valuable minutes of my life watching grown men walking around a field and sometimes falling over,
The aim of the exercise was never really made clear to me although I had been informed by million £ a year pundits that the people wearing white shirts would marmalise the people in dark blue shirts,
Yeah Right.

We have a tradition in Poland when it comes to Euro or Word Cup:
1) Opening match
2) Match of last chance
3) Match for honor
4) Go home

If l wrote what l feel about football the post would be deleted and l'd be banned! There's a simple way not to waste your valuable time. Don't. The French Grand Prix is on this weekend. Even if it's not a good one, the race is normally over in less than 90 minutes :)

It was really all about getting slurpers back into pubs, Shaun. :shh: :shh: What else could it be? After all, some premier league 'stars' earn more in a week than I did in ten years of forced labour, and yet most of them are, when taking a shot, more likely to hit the International Space Station than the space contained by the goalposts (Just look at Gareth Bale's penalty... :haha: ).

Didn’t watch the game nor have I watched any of the others, football isn’t what it used to be so for me I can find many other things to do in 90 mins than watch that, for example put some pistons in a classic mini engine

Looks like choosing to watch how far my toenails flew while I was cutting them, then crawling around on the floor till found them all was the better choice of something to do

Sounds amazingly similar to how I feel about American football now in many ways. Maybe for different reasons but I must be mindful of what I say. :silent:

Baseball season is here now but I’m speaking in generality. The NFL and players are in the news all year round. Getting nauseating.

I meant football with the round ball rather than the stretched rugby ball! Sounds much the same problem though. :)
Didn't know the rounders season was on, I'll just have to wait for more strange sports terms from corporate.....

Out of all the types of "football," I prefer the Aussie Rules Football the best. Played by real men and not overpaid prima donnas.

I was under the impression that "Real men played it with the decapitated head of ones enemy"

That Aussie Rules stuff is a confusing state of affairs!!
My wife is a local so she has grown up with it, so I do understand it better after all these years here, but it’s still a messy sport.
I do think however that in Victoria where the sport is at its most brutal hard core following, the clubs are neighbourhood based, similar to English football, and the feral crowds sometimes behave like crazed cave men before and after games!

Give me Rugby union , Gods pure pastime

I picked Aussie Rules Football out of the games with Football in their title. Although some people call Rugby, Rugby Football, no idea if that's what it's meant to be called?

I do prefer Rugby, I believe Union was a northern preference here, and League southern originally.
They changed some rules for League to make it flow better/faster, but I think Union already flowed faster.

I always thought league was more of a northern thing!
