With the ready availability of cheap frozen rolled pastry, most types, that is so easy to unroll and cook, the wonderful memories are easily recreated. Just add fruit and spices to taste and cook as dirrected. Add ready made custard or cream and enjoy. The best but is that even if you do somehow make a little mistake and it doesn't look quite right, it still tastes great!

My garden no longer has apple and cherry trees but does still have a prolific conference (sp?) pear tree. Sliced pear on honey puff pastry flan and cream. If it wasn't raining buckets right now l'd be out there picking a few right now. Mmmm..

You got to be kidding me! Again!? And caffeine didn't even help, arrgh! :{

I think I've got it figured out?! It appears that my computer timed itself out of the website just as I posted a reply, then when I refreshed the page it posted my reply a second time!

And I thought I felt stupid yesterday! My Wife says it's probably a football sized tumor in my skull. She wishes, she'll not be rid of me that easy!

Thinking myself stupid,
Eric.

Jim,

I agree about the food. If I don't have pizza once a week I tend to freak out. If you didn't know what the hell I was talking about in my previous posts, I somehow double posted 2 replies. It now seems some kind moderator took pity on me and removed them, making me look less foolish? Or, perhaps it was some sort of flashback from something I ingested in the 1980's ? :shh: Or, it could indeed be that tumor my Wife is convinced I have, or one of my 2 near traumatic brain injuries? Or....

Once again I digress, but it twas a great looking pie. How's your barbecuing skills?

Cheers,
Eric.
