My PCs Hard drive failed earlier today,
I was planning to transfer all my files including my "Favourites" onto a new PC but the thing went south before I got it done,
So here I am having just finished setting up the new PC with just the vital downloads such as the BBC,RCUNIVERSE, SKYGO oh and RCTANKWARFARE,
Now is the time when I wished I had written down all those passwords :lolno:

You need a backup device of some sort, preferably two. I don't trust any form of computer storage media, having worked in IT for 40+ years I have seen too many disk drives, computer tapes and removable memory devices fail. I always aim to have 3 copies of my data, on different media devices.

I could have backed everything up But it was never going to happen to me after all the PC was only 12 years old :lolno:
At least I have discovered that Fibre Broadband actually is quite fast and all this time I have been blaming the slow speed on "Talk Talk.
As to Viagra I completely do not understand these advertisment's,
Somebody should tell these shysters that you don't need a prescription anymore and you can buy your little blue pills from Boots or so I am led to believe :haha:

A 12 year old PC.... I guess it doesn't owe you anything.

I feel your pain, having suffered a similar fate a while ago. I was lucky, the drive still worked, so after a couple of weeks of non stop recovery, I got back most of what I had lost. One trick is to email important files to yourself, that way you can log in to Outlook or whatever and they are still there. Just create an archive folder and they will always be there.

The best answer to a failing hard drive is to have backups. It usually takes a major data loss or paying for expensive data recovery for people to take backups seriously. Backups can be automated so they are less of a chore.
