Introduction

Post by Choobox »

Hi guys - and gals- newguy here. Purchased a metal Taigen Tiger 1. It’s a decent entry level model. Ran it through the paint booth right away- a bit of weathering. Used the Taligen decals Oops. Oh well. That’s fixable.
I use Pedinghouse decals on my n scale models, so will give them a go in the future. I use 1/144 scale armor on n scale flats. They look a bit larger and more menacing.

Ha ha! I hear you. I model Nn3, N, HO, On30 and G. My 1/16 tanks and G scale get more attention lately.

Hello and welcome to the forum Mr Choobox

The Taigen Tiger 1 is a good starting tank to get

Love the N gauge railway. I have its forerunner triple 0 stored away. Used to have the old Tri-ang TT gauge till it all got sold off many years ago. I kept the old 000 because of its nostalgia and sentimental value. A shop near where I grew up had the layout running around in their shop window when you put an old penny in a slot. And I was always in there spending my pocket money in their toy section. One day I went there and the window display had gone. I enquired about it, and was told they decided to sell it, I asked how much, then run home, begged my mum for the money, making all kinds of promises lol. Then I ran back to the shop, stopping only once to pick up the money I'd dropped :{
And returned home with the box full of goodies for a whole pound :D Which was the whole layout, three loco's and various carriages and wagons, all die-cast.
At a later date I purchased some extra track, points etc.
I always meant to expand on it with N gauge, but never did. Oh well.

Enjoy the forum.

And always happy to spare the bytes

Hi, Welcome to the Forum
The decals from Heng Long and Taigen need to be treated with great care as you throw them the full length of your workshop into the bin :haha:
Peddinghaus Decals as you have discovered already are great and not only on N guage rolling Stock and Engines, They are as good as any decals on 1/16 Armour BUT I have had my eyes opened by Rad Schuhart because he will make Stencils/Paint Masks to fit your personal needs and the great quality as well as his prices always make me feel I have stolen them :haha: .
I gave up N Guage railways because at the time there was almost nothing in the way of working British Rail overhead power or signalling available in the scale and rolling stock and Engines with Pantographs in the different British liveries were in very short supply,
If you wanted Deutches BundesBahn you could have filled my garage with the stuff but no British Rail spec,
Things are much improved now but the prices and the lack of available space have long ruled out a return to the Iron Horse for me.
A fervent enthusiast Tom Hugill is a great source of information on N Guage
Enjoy the Forum and do ask lots of questions.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:
