Hello from Idaho US

Post by orntar »

Hello, my name is Nathan. I live in Meridian ID. Been modeling on and off all my life. Started as a kid making Revell car models. I started collecting 1/6 scale wwii figures about 10 years ago, and quickly got into 1/6 scale wwii models. I have build a Jeep, Panzer II and Sherman. All Dragon models. I scratch built a full interior and engine for the Panzer II, scratch built an engine for the jeep and added lots of details to each.

I have been out of the hobby a few years, and decided to start looking again. I found 1/16 rc tanks and decided that was a more manageable scale (the 1/6 tanks are expensive and huge!)

I bought a Taigen Tiger I Early kit. Been working thru it and referencing threads here, and I thought I would sign up. Thanks for the inspiration! I am sure I will have some questions.

Welcome aboard and great introduction. If you’ve been away from the hobby for a while you’ll be impressed by the improved electronics. Tiger tanks are my favorite.

Hello and welcome to the forum Mr orntar

Yeah, 16th does seem to be more manageable, even though 6th is so desirable.

Your chosen entry level kit is a very good one to start with

For me, the Tiger 1 is my second favourite WW2 tank.

Enjoy the forum, even more so now you can ask questions ;)

A commendable model-making CV there, Nathan  Welcome, and feel free to pose any questions you wish. While you're about it, you could also post a few pics of your past handiwork, if you have the inclination. :D Don't feel you have to though: words on their own are good enough :)

Welcome Nathan, you'll find friendly, helpful folks here.

You got a pretty impressive 1/6 collection. Perhaps you would share some photos of your work.
