Rather belatedly I am introducing myself. I have been working on RC tanks for nearly two years now but never seem to have time to post anything but have constantly visited the forum to find answers to my questions. It has proved a real mine of information.
I used to restore stationary farm engines but am now finding them too heavy to move and work on so have started on RC tanks. Furthermore it is warmer working in the house than the garage workshop during the winter!
Having completed the Torro Tiger 1, I then butchered a Sherman kit to make a Firefly after using plenty of styrene and epoxy filler.
I am now drawing to the end of my Cromwell IV project. I got the idea after reading 43rdRecceReg's posts. I was going to follow the same route and buy a kit from Ludwig but on thinking more about it decided to make one from some drawings found on the internet and innumerable photos from The Tank Museum.
I took a few photos as work progressed so when finished I will spend some time documenting it and share it with you.
Regards
Peter

Hello and finally welcome to the forum Peter
I am sure, along with many others on this forum that we'd be delighted to see pictures of all your builds. I for one would love to see your firefly.
It's good to see you finally joining the "club"
Regards.
Mick.
Edit. P.S. I see you're not that far from the Grantham club.

Re: Hello from Cropwell
Curiosity now suitably engaged, Peter.
Welcome out of the shadows, and do post pics of your Cromwell when you're satisfied with your progress.
I've moved on to the Comet now, but learned an awful lot from the Cromwell project- especially by making, and then rectifying mistakes. I'll probably return the Cromwell in the future, to replace some of the
scratch-built detail parts I made, with some better (i.e. more accurate) ones I found on Shapeways.

Welcome, is that Cropwell near Nottingham? If so not far to the Grantham meet, first Sunday of the month.
