Hello folks......

Post by Mcvicar »

Hi all ,my name is Victor and i reside in poole,Dorset
An over exposure at as a kid to the delights of the chieftain ARV (army brat, father in REME) festered into a love of the tank in all forms.
Ebay fed the addiction and i picked up one of the modelworks tiger advertised before Christmas ,i do not think its run very much with little wear but possibly not the best storage or build by previous owners
It is my first tank so am i am a complete newby with many questions although i have in the past i have flown i/c helicopters.
So hello to all.

Hello and welcome to the forum Victor

For a moment, I thought you were a Scottish man of the cloth, going on your forum name ;)

I think most of us on here had a similar fixation/addiction start from a moment in our youth :D

I would be interested in what you think about that partworks tiger, I almost started collecting it till I realised the total cost

Oh, and pictures are always welcome
Enjoy the forum.

Hello Mick
thanks for the welcome.
The solidworks tiger cannot be called under engineered, for example after measuring the turret casting the minimum thickness is over 12mm?.
i am also impressed with the quality of the tracks and sprockets but the arrangement of the wheels is horribly complicated
I will try to conquer photobucket and put it under the "My models section"

You're welcome Victor.

Cool, that would be good if you could
Would also be good to compare it with our RC versions.

12mm, that is thick, and not to scale ;)

From the original message, I would say it's a Modelworks 1/8th scale Tiger, not a Hatchette part works 1/16th scale Tiger.

Well there ya go, I never realised the deliberate omission of 8th scale ;)
