New to RC Tanks

Post by DLM05 »

Hello, my name is Dan and I am new to RC tank world. I am looking for suggestions on which 1/16 scale tanks would be a good buy for beginners. I am also trying to find a good contact email or phone number for the tank club called L.O.T.S. out of Lubbock, Texas. Any help on these two matters would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Dan, welcome. Depends on what you are after. Used tanks can be found on Ebay. Heng Longs are usually the least expensive. Amazon has plenty (Costzon) has been some of the cheaper I've found and are still HL. Taigen, are generally better versions of the HL stuff. Tamiya kits are like models that you assemble yourself and tend to be more upper endish. I've know the M4A3, T34 and the Snow Leopard (Pershing) can be had in the States for $100 or less. At times the Tiger 1 is about the same price. And the King Tiger (Tiger II) can be had for less than double that (nice kit too).
