Hi abramsky.
Thank you for your interest and valid comments, Oh yes they are VERY strong, the main weight bearing shaft is 4mm thick steel going through a substantial anchor point on the hull with a 1/8 thick steel swivel plate, with another steel bolt, the brass part is purley the spring loaded tensioner.
I have replied to your pm.

Scratch built Challenger Auto track adjusters
Re: Scratch built Challenger Auto track adjusters
Hi.
Little bit more done on my 2003 Op Telic Challenger 2, i have for the time being completed the Open Panzer refit and added the other electronics i wanted to make / fit, i will post a video of it shortly but first wanted to add / modify more of the tank body, i re made the wing mirrors from brass rod as the plastic ones kept getting caught and breaking.
I made the correct rear light clusters now painted and made some coloured lense covers, i have also made some rear IR recognition panels that fit on the rear bustlel of the turret.
I wànted the secondary gunners MG to functoon so i removed the solid plastic barrel and replaced it with brass and managed to fit a Fibre Optic cable and contained it all within the gun itself, so nothing is visible other that the gun itself, the gun and cable are one so i can remove the gun just by pulling it out the recess without any disconection as i have built the LED into the underside of the turret top and the gun just plugs in without having any re connection routine.
A few pics below hopefully show what i have been blathering about.

Hi.
One more fitted back on the tank and with MG barrel foresight added..
I also added some doors and a lense to the commanders optical sight and have it rotating from the TX.
