Japanese Type 74

Post by Karl_Diesel »

hello to all,

I have startet to design the Type 74 in 1/16 scale.

The road wheel suspension will be able to lower and to elevate same as the original 74. I like the appearance of the Type 74; to me it looks more beautiful than the Leopard 1.

Here is the first pic of my actual work :

Hello to alle,

the first turrets of the Type 74 are manufactured. At first view, the quality is very good (made by Shapeways). More pictures to come when the turret is assembled including the main gun.

Good morning,

yes, the prices at Shapeways .... I have tried to reduce the price by engineering. And I have compared : formerly I got 3D print (from other manufacturer) for more money and with lower quality. At the moment, Shapeways seems to be the best solution for my projects.
And one other compare : including main gun and turret details, the price will be the same like a Resin cast turret (f.ex. Leopard1). But without the problems of Resin casted parts.

Hello,

I have finished the design of the lower hull. It will be made of 3mm-plastic-sheet and some 3D-printed parts.

Hello again,

I am still waiting for my plastic sheets to assemble the lower hull. While waiting, I have made some parts for the hull.

There is the bushing for the swivel arms. The outer parts are made in resin cast.

This are the first 3D-print-parts for the lower hull including some details :
