T90 Makeover

Post by wibblywobbly »

After the abortive house move, and having now unpacked everything again, I got back on the case with the T90. It already has servo recoil, muzzle flash, TK22 (currently a Bulldog one), that will be swapped out for a TK60 with T90 sounds before next season. The battle system is installed and the sensors are all hidden in the turret. It has steel low ratio gearboxes, and runs almost silently, and has a Visaton FRS7 speaker. The smoke unit has been removed as I don't use them.

Anyways, all that left was a paint job, I decided when I bought it that I wanted a battle weary green one, so the rear track guards have been cut off, and it will be weathered up over the coming weeks.

In case you were not aware, Tank zone is now listing the TK 24 & TK 60 as available with T90 sounds. The latter might need an email to them as it is not a priced option, but mentioned in the general detail.

Thanks for the info Richard, maybe he is doing them on special order or something?

I started on the weathering, wanted a rough looking T90 and it seems to be going the way that I wanted. Only the upper hull done so far though still need to do the engine vents, will work on the turret later.

I just find it interesting to see what can be done with nothing more than a brush and some paint, my personal preference is for tanks to look like they have been driven through a muddy river, scraped round buildings and shot at. It's quite a transformation, but the only difference between a fresh out of the box gleaming T90 and mine is the paint? Stugs always look good when they are roughed up, there are loads of pics on the web of them and they are all bashed to bits.

No reason a T90 couldnt be the same
I watched a doco on the Ukraine conflict a while back & just like those other Balkan/ Eastern European shit-fights, the mechanised equipment looks well and truly unloved !
Sure is a hell of a busy canvas to work with though mate.............lots of shapes & hardware going on.
I wish you well and cant wait to see how it ends up ;)

All painting and weathering done, and the tracks done too. Indoor lighting is never a good idea, but you get the general idea. It's not often I say it about my own artwork, but I actually like the way it has turned out.
